And she's proudly said that she uses Skype with monthly subscription. Skype? I never bought credit for my account due to "not so affordable" cost to call to Indonesia. But is it true? Let's look the comparison to 3 neighbouring countries: Indonesia vs. Malaysia vs. Singapore. Any idea why the difference?

Once we have a compassion, then came people that took begging as a profession. They are wealthy enough to have a house or two. Some even have their own houses for rental.

Now, we see them as a filthy. They were no longer need to be respected. They were seen as syndicate. Be it a blind man, a women with her child, nor the child; none of them needed to be respected anymore.

And then with the sour feeling, we tried to neglect them. We tried to bury the feeling. We defined those weren't really in needed.

Look, a man was robbed. Meh! Not mine.

Look, a lady getting harassed. Meh! Don't want trouble.

Jan Peter: Adding Patches to Gentoo EBUILD

It’s not that hard. In fact, I’ve found that it wasn’t like the documentation stated. Let’s use KMix 4.8.0 as an example.

According to Bug 292595, KMix failed to compile with the new OSS4. I too affected by this. Luckily, the bug provide a patch as an attachment:

Those lines are verbatim copies from the attachment and I save it to “$PORTAGE_TREE/kde-base/kmix/files/kmix-4.8.0-oss4-fix.patch”. I have $PORTAGE_TREE in “/usr/local/portage”; that might vary on you.

Then, in the “$PORTAGE_TREE/kde-base/kmix/kmix-4.8.0.ebuild” I add these lines before “src_configure”:

 "${FILESDIR}/kmix-oss4.patch"
)

And generate the new checksum for it so that Gentoo won’t complain:

Saya diberitahu bahwa FOSS masuk ke dalam mata ajar sekolah. Katanya, sih, Pak Onno dan kawan-kawan memperjuangkannya. Baguslah, FOSS memang penting untuk kemajuan bangsa. Lumayanlah, mungkin bangsa ini bisa mengejar ketertinggalan dari Brazil.

Saya sempat berbincang-bincang dengan seorang pimpinan LSM. Orang-orang suka mempertanyakan keputusan LSM yang dia pimpin untuk selalu mengedepankan FOSS; bahkan berseloroh untuk tambahkan logo pinguin di LSM tersebut. Lalu dia bilang, “Semangat FOSS adalah semangat berbagi. Kebanyakan orang FOSS-lah yang turun ke daerah dan berbagi. Lagipula, kami percaya, Indonesia butuh software legal dan saat ini FOSS-lah jawaban untuk sebagian besar kita.”

Lalu kemarin saya pergi ke Gramedia Margonda untuk mencari buku panduan tentang Drupal. Saya tidak menemukannya, tetapi betapa terkejut saya melihat buku komputer yang ditawarkan. Mayoritas buku tentang cara pakai perangkat lunak tertutup yang saya yakin mayoritas kita hanya dapat didapatkan secara membajak. Hanya ada satu buku mengenai GNU/Linux Debian.

Saya tidak menemukan buku tentang Drupal. Yang ada hanya buku Joomla, Prestashop, dan buku-buku mencari uang di Internet. Ada juga buku membuka akun di WordPress, Blogger, dan Tumblr. Ya, sudah, saya pasrah dan pulang dengan tangan kosong.

Saya tidak tahu, apakah ini pertanda dari Tuhan mengenai hal-hal yang berhubungan ini, percaya atau tidak, terjadi dalam waktu secara kronologis pada hidup saya. Tetapi, tampaknya ini mengingatkan saya betapa kurangnya buku dan panduan mengenai aplikasi FOSS berbahasa Indonesia.

Dahulu, pernah ada isu di dunia FOSS tentang perlunya ada pengguna menengah. Waktu itu, ada jarak antara pengguna baru dan pengguna lanjut (suhu, guru, dsb.). Bagaimana mungkin suhu-suhu yang telah memasang Debian beberapa tahun lalu ingat cara memasang pada mesin baru? Mereka yang terbiasa dengan sed dan awk takkan bisa mengajarkan kepada pengguna baru. Apalagi, Debian menyediakan dokumentasi teknis lengkap di /usr/share/doc.

Dan di Indonesia sepertinya diperlukan pengguna-pengguna yang menggunakan aplikasi FOSS untuk keperluan sehari-hari. Saya belum menemukan buku-buku panduan aplikasi Blender3D, GIMP, mau pun Inkscape dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Saya tidak tahu tentang panduan OpenOffice/LibreOffice. Saya juga tidak tahu apakah ada yang pernah membahas Redmine dalam Bahasa Indonesia.

Saya sadari, saya hanya mengerti Smart Card, Pemrograman Java, dan Kompilasi Aplikasi. Saya mengerti bagaimana membuat sebuah sistem yang terkustomisasi. Saya mengerti optimasi sistemberkas. Tetapi, saya tidak mengerti bagaimana menggunakan aplikasi-aplikasi biasa. Dan ini menyulitkan saya ketika saya hendak membantu orang-orang.

Mungkin, di tahun 2012 ini saya harus menyempatkan waktu menggunakan aplikasi-aplikasi seperti LibreOffice, GIMP, KDENLive, dan sebagainya. Mungkin menuliskan beberapa tips. Menaruhnya di sebuah WIKI atau mungkin buku daring.

Sedikit pertanyaan, adakah dokumentasi Bahasa Indonesia mengenai aplikasi-aplikasi tersebut? Sudikah kiranya Anda untuk membagikannya?

Oh, iya, saya sudah menyiapkan laman komparasi di sini.

Ramot Stephanus: Konser Tohpati @ Salihara: Perenungan Genre

Hari Minggu (29 Jan 2012) lalu saya berkesempatan menonton Konser Tohpati di Teater Salihara. Konser ini adalah salah satu dari rangkaian konser dalam tema Salihara Jazz Buzz. Latihan Into The Woods dulu siangnya, lalu beli tiket dulu di Salihara, pulang untuk makan lalu kembali ke Salihara untuk nonton. Kursi sudah lumayan penuh saat saya datang, untungnya masih dapat tempat yang (awalnya) mendapat view yang bagus. Beberapa saat kemudian konser dimulai. Orang di depan saya yang sebelumnya duduknya bersandar ke kanan, sekarang bersandar ke kiri mepet dengan temannya di sebelah kiri sehingga view yang seharusnya bagus tadi berubah menjadi view kepala orang. Saya coba geser kanan dikit, ni orang duduknya bolak balik sandar kiri kanan jadi susah juga. Ya sudah daripada ribet pindah kursi di sebelah. Pandangan kembali tidak terhalang dan world peace is achieved.

Kali ini sang maestro Tohpati Ario Hutomo (gitar) ditemani oleh maestro lain Dimawan Kresno Adji a.k.a Wawan yang memegang cello. Kalau gak inget Wawan ini siapa, dia adalah leader Jogja String Quartet yang pernah menemani Dwiki Dharmawan juga di konser di Salihara yang pernah saya review di sini. Kembali ke konser, lagu pertama serem amat yak ~.~ Jadi sepertinya untuk konser kali ini Tohpati memilih lagu2 yang (subjectively) lebih kelam, kecuali dua lagu yaitu My Dream sebagai lagu kedua dan Sorak Sorai sebagai encore. Tohpati menggunakan efek musik dari notebook seperti desir angin, atau efek dari pedal seperti bunyi kolintang dengan nada yang sama saat dia memetik senar gitar), demikian jg dengan Wawan. Satu orang kayanya bisa mijak 12 pedal deh itu hahahah xD

Anyway, untuk kali ini saya tidak berniat untuk memberi review per lagu. Satu hal yang saya pelajari saat konser Tohpati ini adalah bahwa meskipun saya menyukai Jazz pada umumnya, saya lebih spesifik gemar lagu yang punya 'form'. Yang jelas awal, klimaks, akhirnya. Jazz itu sendiri salah satu prinsipnya adalah ketidak teraturan, sehingga beberapa lagu yang Tohpati mainkan justru membuat saya bosan atau malah merinding sendiri ~.~. Hal ini bukan berarti Tohpati tidak bagus bermain, tetapi lebih kepada bukan selera saya. Meskipun demikian, saat My Dream dimainkan, saya sampai menahan nafas saat hampir mencapai 'klimaks' lagu. Soal skill tidak perlu ditanyakan lagi, itu dua orang bisa buat orang capek dengan ngeliat jari2nya aja hahaha xD

Overall, untuk penggemar Jazz, konser ini benar-benar menunjukkan penguasaan Tohpati dan Wawan atas alat musik yang dimainkannya. Semua lagunya (subjectively) memerlukan skill tingkat advanced, dengan efek-efek yang cukup realistis dan tepat pada sasaran. Gak rugi saya menukar traktiran Hanamasa oleh partner saya dengan nonton konser ini. Satu hal lagi yang saya renungkan..... kapan ku bisa se piawai orang-orang ini? Kalau bisa tanpa latihan... *ngelunjak.com*

Jan Peter: Awkward Racism

There are moments when we would find ourselves joking about other nations/races. I don't know, jokes about racism is always comes natural. I think everyone might engaged on at least one conversations about it.

We often joke about other race that not there. But, only Russel Peter that could pull it out on public without being cast. For us, we are deemed to have those jokes when no person from the race there.

Now, what happens when there was one?

... [That moment of awkward silence]

I was with my friends on a coffee shop discussing about the richness of our diversity. You know, only in Indonesia many different races could blend well. I guess we owe one from the good ol' dictator, H. M. Soeharto. My generation was raised in a forced cultural blend. Some of us, like me, couldn't talk fluently in our racial language.

And then, we talk about Malaysia. My experience in Malaysia showed a little fear about how far this country could stand united. When I was in a commuter, I found people being clustered. Oddly, I found left side a Chinese women with hot cloth and at the right a Melayu women with hijab. I see none of them interacting. Weird, I felt like standing in between two worlds.

The situation is different in Indonesia. People with different racial trait would blend well. I can see that Jakarta is the melting pot. Like my friend said, we only have one language: money. Ha... ha... ha.... Sehr interessant!

And then, I remember about Sankaku Complex [NSFW] talking about how racist the Korean with black person. I remembered an incident in a flea market where people were running away when a black person showed.

So I said, "Korean also racists." Then, my friend with troubled face talked, "which Korean?" I think he tried to signal me about something.

I had an odd feeling about it. I looked behind and there was a Korean women standing behind my back. She would overheard our conversation. Although she appeared texting, I think she definitely overheard my voice!

Akward....

And I tried to make a brilliant comeback: [This is not the complete conversation, omitted here and there because of my memory, but at least this was the most part]

"I mean, The North Korean. You know how they bombed everyone. They bombed Japan. They bombed borders and no one fights back. Amazing, how they have millions of soldiers"

"And I think who is the name of the leader? Kim Jong Il or Un?"

"Kim Jong Un"

"Oh, yeah, there is a Tumblr about Kim Jong Un stares at something. Just like his father."

"Ah, I felt like we are like in Command & Conquer: Generals...."

And the rest of conversation in an attempt to avert my foolish mouth went on.

After the conversation stopped, either it was coincidence or not (I hope it was), the girl ran away into the Faculty of Culture. I really hope it was coincidence. I really really hope she wasn't misunderstood about us. I really really really hope that she was running away because it was cloudy and the rain was stopped momentarily.

I mean, I'm still afraid of our Korean fellow students would talk about how racist Indonesian just because she overheard my conversation. Well, this made me think of never talk about racism again in public. Especially when we are not in Comedy Central and we are not Peter Russel.

The temptation of making a fool of anyone else's race is quite high. I mean, who could resists to not discuss about story when Abed told Trey to be the first black guy who didn't die first in a movie? I honestly laugh at that first and then "huh?" A sudden realization about movies being like that.

I think we are anxious when facing differences. Some of us would shy away, some would mad and some would like to joke about it. I think to joke something that we fear is a way to defeat the fear. Like a saying: "I laugh at the face of death!"

I think laughing at the funny accent is a way for us to shut the alertness on our mind. To tell the mind, "hey, that isn't dangerous. That doesn't feel threatening. In fact, it is funny. Deal with it!"

Joking about others is also, I admit, a way to hide our inferiority complex. Feeling like a boss might comfort us. To make us proud as to heal against something that would threatening our pride, one of our prove of existence.

But the problem is about the person that being made fun of. What about him/her? Can the person stand a chance? Don't the person felt humiliated? Don't the person deserves to be acknowledge as a fellow equal?

I do feel sorry. I don't feel good either when I know that I might be hurting the person's heart. I wish I could tell her that we are just joking. Besides, don't you think Korean have adorable faces and Pop culture?

Well, I guess part of my tweeting K-Pop this evening might be a self-conscious of making apology. I don't want to be a bad person. I know I might be racist. But that's just because it is natural to be one. I wish I wasn't, but I know racism is in everyone of us.

I don't want to hurt people and their feeling. As a minority, I know how it hurt to be made fun of. I feel like a hypocrite, talking against generalization but making one. It was a joke and a bad one.

Oh, well, lesson learned.

when someone's making fun at you, it's hard to resist the temptation to turn back the situation when you have the ability to do so.

when someone disappoints you, it's hard to still put a smile on your face and pretend that everything's okay.

when someone's mad at you for things that's not your fault, it's hard to bow down and take the blame for yourself.

when someone tells you poop about someone you didn't like either, it's hard not to badmouthed her and try to see things differently from other side.

when you had someone's secret on your hand, it's hard not to put that secret for a good "use".

when everyone around you went crazy over stupid little thing, it's hard to keep focused on something important and try to get them back on track again.

i can't be myself lately. i'm trying not to be my old self anymore. i don't want to be that person again. if i'm being me, i'll embarrass them more than they can embarrass me. if i'm being me, i'll tell anyone i knew how i felt about her and what a peep she was to me. if i'm being me, i'll defend myself even though i know it'll make situation worse for everyone but at least it will be better for me. if i'm being me, i'll make that secret for a good use, and of course for my advantages. if i'm being me, i'll go crazy with them too, regardless it will hurt somebody or not in the process.

i considered myself as a bad bad person. a bad friend. a bad partner. a parasite. but not anymore my dear friend. i want to be good. i'd die trying to be good. it's hard, it's depressing, it's exhausting, but i still can take it so far lah. what a crazy weekend. my head is over heels and i'm still trying to be a good person. bah, i'd die trying to be a good person.. i hope i still have the strength to do this for the rest of my life. amin!

Sebenarnya timeline cerita ini adalah kelanjutan dari blognya Vita, Road Trippin Around East Java. Setelah road trip di Jatim, 2 orang diantaranya lanjut ke Bali & gw nyusul ke sana. Tujuannya cuma satu, I want to escape from my daily routines. That's why I don't make any itinerary or plan. Satu2nya rencana dari awal adalah visiting Rockbar di Ayana and...we failed it. But overall it's a nice trip =).
Meluncur dari kantor jam 3 langsung ke bandara (yes, my possessive user wants me to spare time to attend the office that day). On-time sekali. Citilink jadwal jam 17:30, sudah boarding jam 17:00, dan siap terbang jam 17:15 tapi masih menunggu waktu. Logo di body pesawatnya masih Garuda, di kursi juga...jadi berasa naik Garuda xD. Untuk ukuran budget airlines kursinya pas lebarnya dan bahannya enak (ya iyalah bekas pesawat Garuda), ga kayak AA. Menyenangkan!
Setibanya di Ngurah Rai bingung mendapati bandaranya terlihat agak berbeda. Terakhir gw ke sana akhir 2010. Sekarang sedang ada pe...

that Taman Safari is located in Cisarua, PUNCAK, Bogor. That means, the weather supposed to be cold and windy, especially at night when you planned to have a Safari Night trip. So don't wear short pants and leave your jacket behind.

And remind me also, Taman Safari is located in Cisarua, PUNCAK, Bogor. That means, the traffic there supposed to be sucks, especially in weekends. We nearly missed the last Safari Night trip at 9 PM.

Fortunately we made it, yay! Special thanks to the driver who persistent enough driving all the way there when some of us already lose hope :D I'm glad we made it because Safari Night trip is awesome. It's quite worth the price (110K IDR plus discount 15% from BNI) for visiting all of the scary creatures in the dark of the night. The guide is so funny, once he said things like this,

paling susah ngasih makan kambing gunung karena kita harus manjat ke tempat mereka buat ngasih makan. kambing2 gunungnya gak ada yang mau turun, soalnya kalo mereka turun namanya bukan kambing gunung lagi, tapi kambing guling..

So stupid lah, hahaha. Sadly we can't get a good picture because it's so dark and actually it's forbidden to use flash to take photos. The trip reminds me of Jurassic Park. With dangerous animals surrounded us, I'm actually quite afraid that night. The only separator between us and the skinny hungry leopard is just an almost invisible fence and a river. What if they feel really hungry and decided to take a run and jump over the river to catch us. Aaaaakk...!!!

Overall, Taman Safari is so much different from the last time I came here. It become more and more like Dufan with many attractions and games all over the place. Unfortunately we came here at night so many of them already closed, but they keep some of the game opened until late at night for the night visitors like us.

The baby zoo is still the most wanted place for me, hehehe. Last time I went here, I took a photo with one huge Sumatran Tiger. This time I choose less vicious animal, because I'm still afraid that they got hungry at night, hahahaha.

I wonder how many changes made in the next 3 year yah..

Kania Lalita: Healthy Banana Cake

Healthy karena menggunakan madu sebagai pengganti gula, yoghurt sebagai pengganti susu, dan mengganti 1/3 bagian tepung terigu putih dengan terigu gandum. So, yeah, basically a ‘just because’ kind of case =P

Kalau mau lebih healthy lagi, ganti telur utuh (putih + kuning/merah) hanya dengan menggunakan putih telur, namun jumlah bagian telur harus dikalikan 2 (1 telur utuh = 2 putih telur), dan juga ganti separuh (atau seluruh, tergantung selera, yang pasti rasa cake bakalan berubah) bagian mentega dengan minyak canola atau zaitun tanpa rasa (NO minyak goreng biasa!)

BTW cake ini jadinya moist dan lembut, jadi jangan takut kalau hasilnya kelihatan bantet atau kurang matang, karena ya memang begitu hasil yang seharusnya =)

Bahan:

2 buah Pisang matang, puree dengan mixer atau garpu
150 ml Yoghurt plain / naturel
2 sdt Baking powder
200 gr Self rising Flour
100 gr Terigu whole wheat / gandum
150 ml Madu
2 butir Telur ayam ukuran sedang
8 gr Vanili bubuk atau 1 sdt ekstrak Vanilla
50 gr Mentega, lelehkan kemudian simpan pada suhu ruangan
Bubuk Cinnamon atau Speculaas
Mentega / margarin + terigu putih untuk mengoles loyang atau gunakan baking spray dan kertas roti
Icing sugar

Cara memasak:

Panaskan oven pada suhu 200 celcius.
Siapkan loyang, olesi dengan mentega / margarin atau baking spray, letakkan kertas roti di dasar loyang.
Aduk Pisang, Yoghurt, Vanili, dan Baking powder di dalam baskom besar. Gunakan sendok atau mixer untuk mengocok.
Kocok lepas telur, kemudian masukkan ke dalam adonan pisang, aduk rata.
Campurkan madu dan mentega ke dalam adonan, aduk rata
Tambahkan self rising flour, bubuk cinnamon, dan terigu whole wheat ke dalam adonan, aduk rata.
Tuang adonan ke dalam loyang dan panggang selama 60 menit.
Angkat loyang dan biarkan hingga dingin, kemudian taburkan icing sugar di atas cake.

I have been wondering lately:

If DPR is house of people's representatives then how can people fired those that incompetent?

If DPR is open to people then why it has walls and fences that could stand zombie apocalypse?

If DPR is a house of democracy then why don't they let one of the yard become a place where people could shout instead letting them in the street in front of its gate?

This morning, I've been foked. In the midst of the jam, I asked to my self:

Why won't people protesting by not submitting to the police raiders that accompanying any car? Why don't we just not let them got through the traffic and let them get stuck with us also? I mean, they should eat their own dog food. To have the effect of their own shitty policies.

And one last question, why won't we force them to use public transportation at least once a week?

Is this kind of protest protected by law?

Violance is easy to cure from practical point of view. It's just so scary to do it practically.

I agree of what Stef said on this one. A sadist born from unfortunate events in his/her timeline. Not in a night but a lifetime, that's what it is that shape someone's mind. Of course, it's ceteris paribus; a drastic event could create traumatic can take it out in an instance.

Now, the real cure of it is compassion. Meaning, to swallow our pride and try to forgive the monster. A mere stare, a spit in the face, mockery and any humiliating would not effective. Any swearing would just make the monster invulnerable.

Why?

Because the monster is not the person. It is the state of mind of feeling troubled over the person's endangered existance. Everyone have the self-mechanism to defend one's own existance. By any mean necessary! A compassion is to protect the one's existance and to protect ourselves against its rampage.

An existance, either by this world or (to whom believe) other world, is a crucial matter for each human. It is a grand question of any person in the world. Some might try to define that we are purposeless, just some random biological compound of nature. But, by answering the question, those some are already in that question area. Isn't that they also seeking for their purpose?

A purpose. You can't give that to people via hatred. You can't change them by made them suffering. And simply, a lost person would not listen to people when the person feel like being dominated. Nobody loves to be dominated by others. Everyone wants control, even if the control is being other's command.

Yes, we want certainty in this uncertain world. Random things would prefered as long it is in the expected area of mind. We strive to change and adapt to change. Yet, we would want that change happens not beyond the area of our acceptance.

That's why, there is a hard way for people to change. You could not change a person's mind in a night unless with a drastic measure. Unfortunately, a drastic measure of making monster is easy to find, but a drastic measure to cure a person is hard. It takes time for people to change into a better man. An alarm could turn on in an instance, but you must take the time and procedure to take it off.

Now, the real question is: can you forgive someone who hurts you? Takes time, though.

Thus, easy to cure practically, yet hard to do it practically.

Sebelum ngeblog mengenai trip Bali 18-20 Jan 2012 kemarin, saya mau bahas seputar kamar mandi dulu. As far as I know hotel2 berbintang memang ada yg kamar mandinya transparan misalnya Padma atau Hilton Bandung. Tapi yg biasanya begitu kan hotel berbintang dan potensial untuk honeymoon. Nah trip kemarin kami 3 hari ganti-ganti hotel di Bali -Kuta-Seminyak-Pecatu- dan mendapati ketiga-tiganya memiliki kamar mandi transparan -_-".
1. Everyday Smart Hotel, Kuta
Dengan rate 300k IDR semalam, menurut gw yah lumayan lah. Sebenernya gw ga ikutan nginep di sini sih. Tapi ada yg ngomel2 katanya sempit. FYI orang yg ngomel ini awalnya nyaranin Tune Hotel dan dia belum pernah nginep di Tune. Well, if you can survive Tune Hotel, you can survive almost anything *lebay* (dari sisi ukuran kamar loh ya).
Kamar mandinya transparan dan ga ada tirainya..muahahaha.

Terpaksa deh diakalin. Mau lihat bagaimana perjuangan mereka menutupi kamar mandi pakai handuk + tensoplast + payung + shower curtain?

Overall it was.. humm.. Unforgettable.. Baik dari sisi positif maupun negatifnya… fufufu..

Day 1: Bromo – Alas Purwo – Jajag, Banyuwangi

Kita memulai perjalanan dari stasiun eh Bandara Juanda (kbanyakan naek KRL). Dr sana kita nyewa mobil idamannya anak kecil: Mitsubishi Strada dgn pemborosan 400.000/day. Dijelaskan sedikit oleh yg punya cara pake 4WDnya di lautan pasir, Bromo dan diblgin nego aja kasih 50rb, stradanya bs masuk lah. Girang dong, udah bayangin pose di lautan pasir pake mobilnye.

Baru 5 menit jalan udah mlayang di udara karena jebakan betmen di jln mnuju tol Juanda. Paraah tuh yg bkin jalan.. ada gajlukan tinggi ga kliatan.

We drove straight to Bromo lewat tol kluar Porong – Probolinggo – Cemoro Lawang – Wonokriti dgn terngantuk2. Sampai di Pos pukul 3 pagi. Jalan cukup gelap dan curam terjal utk malam hari, cukup creepy.

Cerita punya cerita ga boleh masuk dong kita pake jeep Stradanya, pdhal udah ngumpanin raja arab bwt nego.. Akh kena deh tuh nyewa jeep “Paguyuban” 400rb (nego2 susah bener turuun).. dgn silat lidah “demi keamanan bapak”. Kalo ngomongin soal keamanan, mobil yg kita pake th 2010 dobel erbeg cuy.. mo dibandingin ama jeep hartop taun ilikibrik.. Secara logika amanan mane? Mungkin maksutnya uang “keamanan” (biar bs plg dgn ban utuh dan ga bonyok2)

Ya sudahlah, pasrah saja tuh keluar dgn ga ikhlas Rp. 400.000 utk ke penanjakan (300) + kawah (100). Jln ke penanjakan.. jreng2.. man.. jln ke penanjakan cm beda 1 belokan ama pos dan ga dijaga, dan medannya biasa aja, even an Innova can survive. Perjalanan cm 15mnt.. Mulailah cemberutlah kita, duit 300rb mlayang sia2.. Trus apa iya tuh supir guide kita ke atas? Kaga.. cm blg “jam 0630 sdh kembali sini ya”

Naek ke Penanjakan yg emg sesuai dgn namanya.. nanjaaak muluu.. Dgn penuh kepleset2, dan dikuntitin kuda “mbak naek kuda mbak. jauh loh mbak, mbak, mbak” sampailah kita ke atas. Masih gelap sih. Nunggu 30mntlah baru kliatan siluet Bromo.

Yah agak2 gagal sih ngambil putunya.. ga bs ky di poskard2 ato di kalender..

Tp cukup puas lah dgn ditemani pemandangan apik (yg gagal diambil bagus di kamera) dan udara suejuk. Udara hr ini cukup normal.. ga dingin2 amat.. You don’t actually need a winter Jacket here. Just a normal warm jacket and cover your ear with hood and you’ll be fine. This is what I wore (ignore the insignificant creature who’s wearing just a shirt):

Abis puas putu2 (ga puas sih, hrsnya dipuas2in, bayar mahal inih), trus ke kawah, yg medannya super datar dan dket juga ) why the hell we need the 4wd junk?? Nah mulai nih di sini supirnya bersilat lidah lagi.. kan baru sampe.. Jeep sengaja diberhentiiin kira2 2km dari kawah.. trus blg “ini masih jln 2 Km lagi..” WTF.. setelah cape naek ke penanjakan, we don’t think we can survive there.. Trus silat2 lagi “Kalo mau yg ga jalan, ke pasir berbisik ama savana nambah 150 lagi”………… errr… so typical.. menjerat dan menjebak bagaikan betmet..

Au ah.. krn BT, kita jln aja didaerah2 situ, tp ga nek ke kawah.. Skitar jln pnjg itu, sy dikuntit lagi oleh kuda “Mbak, kudanya mbak, jauh lo mbak 2 Km.. Mbak2 100rb ampe atasnya…” lama2 “mbak2 50rb kudanya..jauh loh” last resort: “Poto ama kudanya 5rb” ~__~#

Sumpah sedih gw ndengernya.. Sgitu susahnya ya hidup sampe ngemis2 dan njebak2? Yg jelas Paguyuban (baca: mafioso) Jeep itu merupakan penipuan besar dan gak fair. Kita jg br sadar knp jeepnya parkir jauh dari kawah, supaya kudanya laku. #%*$@#%?^>@#?^%?> Mo blg apalagi? cm bs blg MENYEDIHKAN.. Alamnya bagus nan indah mahakarya Allah SWT.. tapi.. Kalo ky gini, siapa yg mau balik ksana? dipalakin ga ada abisnya di setiap langkah!! Gw baca di blog2 org, jeep cm ke 300, knp kita doang kena 400?? Trus knp ga kenain bea masuk mobil sekian, ga usah pake paguyuban 4wd junks?

Eits tapi pengalaman buruk belom berakhir sodara2.. Pas udah sampe parkiran dgn tmpang super manyun, kita dihadapkan dgn wind shield mobil bersih dooong, dgn wiper keangkat.. Damn!! tukang palak lagi dah nih… Trus makin BT, ada org yg dtg ke mobil “uang cucinya mas”… *tepok jidad* innalillahi!! Sy ketusin aja “emgnya kita td minta cuciiin??” “ya kalo gmau ngasi gpp mba (tp jgn harap ban-nya utuh dan bebas baret mobilnya)” %*$%^?#?%%?^>%?&^>%?^

Kluar parkir dgn susah payah di lahan sempit dan mobil yg super panjang ga ada yg bantuin.. bgitu slese bs berhasil kluar, ada lagi org kucluk2 malak duit. HELLOO??!?!?! *jedot2in pala (yg malak2in)*

Sehabis rangkaian nightmare itu, si Strada lgsg dihajar abis turun ke bawah ama abang arab, without looking back, dan bahkan gw ga dikasih ke toilet dan membiarkan perut2 keroncongan kita.. “Segera pergi dari daerah ini!!”

Belom cuy.. kita masih lanjut ngantuk2 tanpa tidur ke kota lupa.. dan makan di salah satu warteg.. Di warteg itu kita mkn dgn playanan ramah rumahan ala org jawa.. dan dikasih 1 kantong gede rambutan pulak.. Di situ kta kembali realita bahwa kemanusiaan itu masih ada..

Sejujurnya kita inginnya ke Pantai Plengkung.. yg konon kabarnya tmpat hajatan surfing international.. Ga jadi karena… “oh, musti naek jeep lagi 400rb..” *tepok jidad* “oh, kalo naek kapal 750 boleh lah..” Lu kireee??? Percumah sudahlah berliter2 solar yg terbakar utk mengarungi 300Km dari Bromo ke Ujung Wetan Jawa Timur. Jadilah kita cm ke Pantai Grajagan.. ama pantai carita aja bagusan Carita… ~.~

Hari diakhiri dgn tidur di Jajag skitar 30mnt dari pantai Grajagan, tepatnya Hotel Surya something2.. Ok lah utk ukuran 200.000/kamar dgn twin bed + 50.000 extra bed.. Cukup bersih.

Yeah.. nothing to say from pantai ini sih.. nothing special.. kotor jg.. bingung mo ngapain..

Setelah puas doing I don’t know what, kita lgsg cabcus ke Pantai err.. uu.. Tambak Sari? Lupa dah untuk makan seafood.. Nemu ikan enak rasa ky kpiting warnanya biru.. dan lupa namanya lagi.. Ikan Nemplok? #eaaa

Abis kenyang, lanjut Probolinggo. Kita dah booking tmpat dari Regulo, grupnya Arus Liar utk besoknya Rafting, Cihuyy

Day 3: Rafting di Sungai Pekalen, Probolinggo – Batu, Malang

Photos say more than words lah..

Seruuh!! Di sini sy kecemplung sendirian di arus kencang, nubruk batu, kejepit boat, tenggelem, dll dst.. But Alhamdulillah I was saved and alive!! Dgn baret dan benjol doang.. >.< Thx to org2 yg uda berusaha ngangkat ke atas boat lg.. I know, I’m heavy T__T Setelah berhasil diselamatkan, para rescue team dan tmn2 pun bertepuk tangan.. ~.~

Di daerah Maron ini, kita nginepnya di Kampoeng Kita seharga 105.000/orang. Yah gubuk sederhana gitulah.. Masih OK.. Raftingnya 185.000/org.

Jam 12:00 teng kita dah bersih dan teler.. Namun siap utk menempuh perjalanan lagi ke Juanda utk membuang org2 yg ingin kembali ke Jkt…

Susahnya cari penginapan di Batu, Malang

Di malam harinya kira2 pukul 9, kita sudah ada di Batu, Malang. Perjalanan dari Bandara Juanda kira2 2.5 jam. Mencari hotelnya 2.5 jam juga.. GAAAH!! The only problem is.. hr itu adalah senen, sepiiiii.. sehingga ga bs nilai hotel dr jumlah mobil yg parkir. Lalu, hotel2 yg di jln2 utama itu maaahaaal.. like 300-400 dan dgn fasilitas losmen tuir yg mengerikan.Yg hotel bagusan dikit sampe bintang2, 500an ke atas.. BAH!

Setelah perjuangan kluar masuk hotel 4-5x dan nyasar2 ke gunung2 antah brantah dgn modal google search dan google maps, akhirnya kita menemukan oasis di gurun pasir bernama Vila Gradia. Beeuh!! 5 jempol dah sy kasih bwt tuh pila. Kita dapet 1 kmr, dgn 1 bed double dan 1 bed single, kamar luas, bersihnya mangstaab! dah ky hotel bintang, tipi kabel, dan sarapan enak. Utk harga 340.000 bwt 3 org itu sangat2 worth it. Recommended pila deh..

Day 4: Batu, Malang

Pagi harinya, menikmati penginapan plg bagus selama perjalanan: guling2an ampe siang (cm mpe 07:30 sih, lebay aja). Sarapan enak dan santai, lanjut ke atasnya Batu sanah. Menemui objek wisata namanya Air Mancur eh Terjun Cobon Rondo. Ini air terjun terjun tertinggi yg pernah saya lihat. Konon kabarnya samoe 84m.

Di daerah Batu ini banyak bgt objek wisatanya… dari mulai Museum Satwa, Jatim Park, dll. Sayang kita ga punya waktu, krn ngejer psawat sore. Cm smpet grab bakso Malang otw (stlh usaha susah payah muterin tuh mobil strada super panjang).

So this conclude the whole road trip around East Java. Menikmati terbang bersama Citylink yg on time teng kembali ke smrawutnya Jakarta.

Berita dari Ars Technica. Megaupload.com ditutup oleh FBI dan 4 orang pengurus utamanya ditangkap di New Zealand. Atas penutupan tersebut, Anonymous menyerang situs pemerintahan dan situs-situs industri Musik seperti Universal. Dari berita tersebut diketahui bahwa staf Megaupload.com mengetahui tentang situsnya digunakan sebagai sarana pembajakan. Hal ini terbaca dari transkrip surel percakapan mereka. Selain itu, mereka memberi perkakas kepada industri untuk menghapus tautan, tetapi ternyata kontennya sendiri tidak terhapus. Dengan kata lain, mereka tidak benar-benar memenuhi DMCA.

Saya sendiri tidak pernah menggunakan Megaupload selain untuk mengunduh ROM Android. Mungkin ini berpengaruh kepada orang-orang yang membayar akun untuk setahun ini.

Kernel 3.3-RC-1 rilis

Kernel 3.3 RC1 telah muncul. Cepat sekali, yah. Padahal, baru awal bulan ini saya menggunakan kernel 3.2. Tapi, kernel ini membawa perubahan penting seperti perbaikan regresi Power Management yang telah lama menyerang kernel Linux. Hal ini membuat kernel Linux lebih irit.

Perubahan yang signifikan lainnya adalah disertakannya BQL. BQL adalah sebuah algoritma antrian jaringan yang berusaha melawan Bufferbloat. Bufferbloat adalah sebuah fenomena yang membuat banyaknya paket hilang/kadaluarsa akibat dari akumulasi tembolok di dalam sebuah jaringan. Saya dulu pernah membahasnya di sini.

badan capek gak keruan. ditambah keadaan cuaca yang lagi sama labilnya dengan perasaan gua akhir2 ini #eaaa. siang panas menyengat, sore sampe malem keujanan dan basah kuyup *tapi seneng*. pagi2 ujan angin plus ac commuter line tanah abang jam 5.30 yang ga bersahabat dengan perut yang terus2an masuk angin. akh. pengen gak masuk tapi kok ya rasanya gak keren kalo gak masuk. alhasil asam laktatnya makin lama makin numpuk dan bikin badan makin gak keruan..

kondisi kantor lagi gak asik. semua orang lagi banyak beban pikiran gara2 kerjaan yang gak kelar2 dan makin menumpuk karena banyak yang resign. keluhan benefit yang berkurang justru membuat orang2 lebih banyak lagi yang resign. gara2 tambah banyak yang resign, otomatis bikin kerjaan orang2 yang masih bertahan di kantor semakin banyak lagi. semakin banyak komplain, semakin capek gua mikirinnya..

Internet people tend to bash person whom against gay. At their game, they love to bash Christianity. They would call Christians whom against gay movement as stupid homophobic.

Seems nowadays many love to depict Christians, and religious people in general, as stupid people. The most controversial movie, Jesus Camp, further depicting Christian movement as a political agenda and brainwashing. In this I agree. This kind of evangelical is wrong.

From the film, it seems that they were from a charismatic church. Charismatics stems from Pentecostal, my view. Because of that, I could tell that obviously they were wrong from the start.

We are a part of Christianity whom believe that people should become an adult before baptized. Pentecostal won't baptize people before they consent with their choice! That's why I've got baptized at my junior high school age (around 14~16). Old enough to have my own decision considering I have read theological books and porns. :-P

My point is, people love to prejudice against all things. And their standard moral of whatsoever is biased against this kind of thing. How would people react to a person that have different view?

For all I know, the Christian's scripture is against gay. It was specifically said in the Scripture on the Old and the New Testament. An example of the passage written by Paul himself made me I consent to this.

"Whoa, in an information age and you still believing in that book?"

Well, to believe God and His Authority is better than believing gay is in a gene. At least God's existence was never been in theory and scientist shy away from proving that one seriously. Gay gene is unproven and mythical. So, while bashing a Christian from his believe, why don't you ask yourself of why would you believe a science fiction?

When people bashing other people. They tend to become an elitist. I, myself, feel this way also when writing this. I am trying to defend my existence especially my pride. In doing so, I find myself inflammatory and vulnerable to make myself superior to other. I hope you keep in mind that I don't want to make this writing that way.

I often get jokes of insulting religious believe. Like the controversial picture of an Arabian kissing by a French magazine, which often referred as an icon of certain religion. Or how a Jewish person pictured in many embarrassing pose which often referred as Jesus. And many insults that posted by people called themselves free open minded people, libertarians.

Not all of the libertarians like that, though. But, I compelled that this kind of thinking is a verbal harassment against our beliefs. The most frightening about verbal harassment is it won't kill people, yet it destruct our mind.

I know that insults to address Christians are not deadly. But, consider this, by labeling Christians as an idiotic person would shy away our kids. Every Christian would have trouble practicing one's faith.

When people having trouble expressing their religion because of the popular view is liberal, it also made my concern as:

"Don't this made liberal view just another religion that suppress other religion?"

When crosses are being pulled from public school I can accept that. But, when people get bullied because they are faith followers, aren't these discrimination?

As the age of information, we tend to blend. Some of us with firm beliefs are not easily convince. Instead of banishing these kind of people, why don't you ask them about people that have opposite belief?

And when a line must be drawn, I would say I object gay movement. But, people who is gay should not be circumcised from their rights. They should be respected as fellow humans. They have their right to believe they are right as much as we are too.

When an openly gay person comes to my house, I would probably welcome the person. And I would likely stand for them in their rights for having their lives. In fact, I have friends whom openly admit their preferences. Yet, I talk with them just like talking to other.

Now, the controversy is when an openly gay person come to my church. What should I do?

I would say, repent. When it comes to religion, this is not to be compromised. This is not exclusively to gay people. It also goes with other beliefs. In other words, they are considered as sinful as non-Christian people even if they were labeling themselves as Christians.

Don't push freedom too much. Religion is a private domain. Meaning, you could do anything as long it doesn't collide with human right and paradox. You can't force a belief to change against its rooting. I am complying to my own standard based on my firm belief of my religion.

But then again, I might be wrong. How about religion that endorse people to kill? Should it be respected?

This is where I said I am not being superior, in fact I feel inferior. I would say I have a double standard. I would say that this religion must delete the part of discriminating non-believer or it should go away. In other words, I'm glad that the law should be enforced in a secular way as possible.

My stance of being double standard because I have a firm standard that every people deserve to live their lives and every people's right is limited to other's right.

All in all, this is my view. People should be respected of whatever their view. People should also take responsibility of respecting other's view. Above them all, no human should be stripped from his/her civil rights.

I know this life is not going to stop here. As we friction each other, there would be times of conflicts. I hope on each of those times we learn each other and balance things up. Deep down also I have fear. A fear of tainting my belief that would made my God disfavor me. Who would not tremble in mind if your belief is being confronted with the opposite?

Openness takes time.

Ferry Haris: Google "Good to Know"

Apart from many cynical comments about it, personally I found Google's new campaign "Good to Know" as a good message to most of the Internet users. Why? Because the most population of Internet users are those who are not categorized as tech-savvy. There are many ways to keep someone safe while being online, but the way to deliver the message is somewhat an art itself.

With their plan to run the campaign both online and offline, like newspapers and billboards, I hope that more Internet users are aware about cyber-security, and act upon it to make themselves secure. Many news about security breaches already popped-out in 2011, let's start 2012 with new target to fight for security in Internest together, all stakeholders.

Even after I was thinking about my family back home, I wish that this program will soon also translated into other languages, especially Bahasa Indonesia.

Andina Budiarti: Danika's Hello World

I am not one who floods my friends' timeline with baby photos and activity updates because I realize not everyone likes babies. Not to mention the potential misuse of my child's pictures in this digital age. However, surely this journey into motherhood deserves a mention in this log.

Much to my relief, this kid has been so good to her mother. The absence of morning sickness, followed by a relatively quick normal delivery and so far no troublesome allergies... I recon the first week following birth was much tougher. It was just the two of us, my man and I, gritting through every fussy cry, relying on doctor Internet to make sense lots of it :) My mom came to help for about a month after that, but looking back, I'm kinda grateful for that one week of the three of us learning about one another.

Nothing much to report at the moment. The little thing just feeds, poops, and if we're lucky... sleeps all day long, basically. Some goo-gah when she feels chatty. She just began to be aware of her surrounding, meaning getting easily distracted. I just hope for strength to continue to keep up with this little princess.

Saya membaca berita tentang Skrooge 1.2.0 telah diluncurkan. Skrooge adalah sebuah aplikasi perangkat lunak terbuka untuk akuntansi. Kalau mau dikomparasi, dia mirip MYOB. Dia berjalan di atas KDE4.

Seperti sebuah ungkapan Inggris: “Accounting is not my forte,” saya tidak bisa mengomentari apa pun tentang aplikasi akuntansi. Tapi, Skrooge pernah ditulis di beberapa majalah non-GNU/Linux sebagai salah satu aplikasi akuntansi personal.

I give different excuses for different person because I extrapolate my actions and decisions based on those excuses.

Why not tell them all the reasons?

Not all people understand what it means to be an idealist. Not all people would think complicated things. Not all people try to understand what's best. And simply because none of them could have a helicopter view of my life.

While taking advices from other is important, missing your own dream is kind of wasted. Advices are there to give feedbacks on how I will extrapolate my decision, but not as a way to design my life. Nope, this life is mine and I have my time to define what is good for me.

Everybody have experiences. That's why every now and then we listen to our parents and seniors. To not listen also is a dumb decision. But, to cling to them is a problem in itself.

We knew already that littering could cause flood. The waste could intoxicate the land. And for some, the waste could host many illness. Yet, still I see people dropping them with no consent.

Listening to people that let go their dreams is hazardous. They would infect us with mind of letting go the struggle and choose the easy path. A path where we have our lives to have a soulless life.

They say you would be safe there.

But, I keep asking myself, "have you ever heard people without problems?"

And the answer is always, "nope."

If living an easy path also have thorny path, why don't I struggle with my dreams instead?

No need for meticulous answer. I could sense that everyone is afraid of what we do would affect our future. That's true, I have that point in life when I asked myself of what have I done. Then, I realize that I have made a great deal; things that I could brag.

I believe my life is ridding on Land Rover. I believe the car could done heavy duty task. I believe my car was created for an adventure. And I'm driving it off road.

I'm not a fool, though. I have prepare all the necessity. I have wear knee armor. I have consult about the terrain ahead.

And when everything seems frightening, I believe God, my Sponsor, is watching me closely.

Menurut sebuah artikel The Atlantic, komunitas Reddit akan melakukan protes dengan membekukan situs Reddit selama beberapa jam. Hal ini dilakukan pada tanggal 18 Januari 2012 seturut dengan adanya sidang dengar pendapat yang mengundang pendiri Reddit. Menurut artikel tersebut, komunitas Wikipedia juga mengusulkan 48 jam boikot untuk menolak SOPA.

SOPA dan Protect IP adalah sekumpulan produk hukum yang hendak digolkan di negara Amerika Serikat untuk memberikan pemerintah AS menutup akses kepada situs-situs yang melanggar hak cipta. Menurut AMERICAblog.com, SOPA diajukan oleh badan legislatif AS (House of Representatives/semacam MPR) dan Protect IP diajukan oleh dewan Senator. Keduanya akan memberikan kekuasaan pemerintah AS dalam memberhentikan situs-situs yang dianggap melanggar dan yang dianggap menyediakan fasilitas untuk melakukan pelanggaran.

Penting, Ya? (TL;DR)

Saya bukannya kurang kerjaan memperhatikan masalah negara orang. Ada beberapa hal yang membuat saya kuatir dengan adanya kebijakan tersebut: Sebagian besar konten bagus berasal dari AS. DNS pusat ada di AS. Kendati Internet menyebar, hub lokal terbesar berada di AS. PayPal pusat berada di AS. Visa dan Mastercard ada di AS. Kendati SOPA dan ProtectIP hanya berlaku di AS, keputusan ini juga mempengaruhi negara-negara yang lain. Kita punya politisi latah. Mereka bisa saja mencontek ide-ide tersebut dan menerapkannya di Indonesia. Maka, saya bisa pastikan, negara ini punya masa depan yang kelam dalam industri kreativitas. Bukti? Budaya yang populer sekarang berasal dari negara-negara Asia Timur, bukan AS. Pemberlakuan politik sensor seperti ini dapat memberikan kekuasaan tak terbatas kepada korporasi dalam menentukan arah kebijakan. Hal ini dapat memangkas pertumbuhan ekonomi baru, terutama dalam bidang kreatif. Kreativitas dapat terkontrol sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka.

Menangkap Peluang

Saya tidak habis pikir, mengapa jaringan Internet yang menjadi urat nadi orang banyak begitu mahal di Indonesia. Tetapi, jaringan Internet telah melahirkan situs YouTube. Dari situs YouTube lahir eksperimen-eksperimen baru. Banyak eksperimen yang sebelumnya tidak didukung oleh industri utama (mainstream) digemari. Kemudian, mereka membuat produk kreatif.

Untuk pembayaran, mereka memiliki PayPal. Untuk distribusi lagu, mereka dapat menggunakan toko daring iTunes. Ada banyak toko daring yang kemudian muncul dan menggandeng artis-artis YouTube dalam mendistribusikan barang seperti kaos, mug, dan lain sebagainya. Ada juga toko-toko daring yang khusus memfasilitasi penjualan barang-barang lainnya. Bahkan, ada yang memanfaatkan situs media sosial seperti Facebook dalam Facebook Marketplace.

Memang selalu ada dua sisi dari koin. Internet juga pusat liberalisasi. Banyak yang takut kalau Internet dapat menimbulkan keresahan dan penurunan akhlak. Ah, rasa-rasanya penyensoran adalah hal yang paling bodoh yang pernah terjadi di Indonesia. Seorang rekan yang dari pedalaman pernah menyaksikan bahwa penduduk sana tahu berita adegan mesum antara dua artis beberapa waktu lalu. Dari pada sibuk menyensor, lebih baik membuat konten tandingan yang memberikan kearifan budaya kita.

UU Hak Cipta dan Strategi Bisnis

Saya tidak tahu kapan UU Hak Cipta yang baru akan keluar menggantikan UU Tahun 2002. Tetapi, saya setuju dengan pendapat bahwa UU Hak Cipta harus ditegakkan dengan cara pelaporan aktif. Artinya, sebuah konten yang diduga melanggar hak cipta tidak bakal disergap polisi sebelum ada laporan dari sang pemilik konten. Negara Jepang melakukan ini [Condry, 2004].

Menurut studi tersebut, hal ini membuat para penyelenggara CD tidak berani menuntut. Penuntutan dapat mengakibatkan kemarahan para fan. Mereka pun tidak pernah menganggap penurunan penjualan CD akibat dari pembajakan. Memang karena terjadi penurunan penjualan CD secara global. Hal ini karena terjadi penurunan pendapatan.

Mengapa CD menjadi tidak menguntungkan?

Menurut studi itu, harga CD terlalu mahal. Nilainya tidak sebanding dengan yang didapatkan. Membeli satu CD yang mahal demi satu atau dua lagu yang bagus sangat tidak masuk akal. Saya rasa masuk akal untuk mahasiswa berpikir ulang untuk mendapatkan CD seharga Rp50.000,00.

Di situlah peran toko daring semacam iTunes berperan. Peran pembayaran daring itu sangat besar dalam menjaga kelangsungan. Saya rasa, banyak yang tidak keberatan membayar per lagu untuk lagu-lagu yang bagus.

Ah, saya berharap ada pihak bank yang membaca tulisan ini. Seandainya ada toko daring yang terhubung langsung dengan bank. Apalagi terhubung dengan e-Banking. Hai, BNI, saya mau akun saya bisa dipakai PayPal tanpa harus membuat kartu kredit.

Seandainya pihak bank dan pihak penjual bekerja sama dan mengizinkan orang-orang menaruh barang dagangan, pasti banyak orang yang terjun ke industri kreatif. Jangankan itu, pasti permasalahan pemasaran produk daerah juga terlewati. Dengan harga pantas dan prosedur yang mudah dan aman, orang pasti mau membayar musik yang bagus.

Awas yang berani membuat perangkat lunak sebagai paten. Algoritma tidak boleh dipatenkan!

Just read how Google is starting to merge their search function with Google+ tighter to improve people's experience of doing search in Mashable. Personally, this is what I've been waiting for some time, the real social integration of search so that the results are getting more relevant. Already several time I ranted how difficult it is to find relevant information nowadays through Internet because of the so called SEO techniques performed by tons of site owners.

And of course another thing is that my prediction that Google+ is not just the way Google fighting Facebook, comes to reality. It is bigger. And having presence in Google+ for those who haven't should start to put into concern.

During stucked in the Jakarta's traffic couple days ago, I was thinking about how IT can help the local government fighting the traffic jam in which to my conscious is getting worse from the last time I visited Jakarta, end of 2010. People were hanging in the car, most of them only one person per car, suited nicely either planning to meet someone or going back home, which normally a bit far away from Jakarta's city center.

Will cloud computing, or whatever term you would use, able to help them really boost their productivity and work from anywhere and anytime without physically need to be in the same place? Will it able to lower numbers of people who need to travel a lot into the city?

Or at the end of the day it's all about culture? People's culture who socially needs to be work in a space called office and meet people a lot to perform their work?

Any thoughts?

Jan Peter: HTML5 Murni Dengan Opera

Unduh Opera versi terbaru. Misalnya di sini.

Saya mengunduh versi 64-bita.

Ekstraksi dengan menggunakan aplikasi Tar.
Pasang atau langsung gunakan Opera.

Dapat juga diunduh versi Deb-nya yang bisa dipasang.
Setelah Opera terpasang, gunakan ekstensi Webm+.
Selesai. Dengan ini maka setiap kali mengunjungi Youtube, video yang ditampilkan adalah versi HTML5 bukan Flash.

HTML5 Adalah Masa Depan

Alasan pribadi saya menonaktifkan Flash adalah karena sistem saya sering mogok. Hanya satu aplikasi itu saja yang menjadi kanker di dalam sistem saya. Saya sebal, sebab saya bisa mengompilasi, menjalankan musik, menjalankan Netbeans, dan menjalankan aplikasi lainnya stabil. Tetapi, ketika menggunakan peramban merek apa pun, selama Flash aktif menyala komputer saya pasti akan mogok.

Alasan selanjutnya adalah masalah standar terbuka (Open Standard). Saat ini (di luar Indonesia) berlomba-lomba orang terjun ke dalam standar terbuka. Kata standar terbuka menjadi topik yang panas semenjak Uni Eropa dan negara-negara lainnya mensyaratkan kebutuhan TIK mereka harus dipenuhi dengan standar terbuka.

Sayangnya, banyak perusahaan yang menawarkan standar terbuka yang tidak benar-benar terbuka. Banyak teknologi “standar terbuka” yang tertawan dengan Paten atau pun terimplementasi secara tertutup. Contohnya, OOXML, H.264, dan OpenGL 3.

Hal ini mengakibatkan implementasi oleh pihak ketiga menjadi tidak kompatibel. Entah dokumen yang mencong-mencong, pembayaran lisensi, dan bahkan fasilitas yang tidak dapat dimanfaatkan. Contoh yang paling mengenaskan adalah MESA. Penggerak grafis di GNU/Linux ini terlambat mengimplementasi OpenGL 3 karena banyak algoritma yang dipatenkan.

HTML5 saat ini masih muda. Banyak sekali standar yang berusaha masuk untuk menjadi bagiannya. Salah satu fungsi yang sedang digunakan adalah tag video untuk HTML5. Nah, ada tiga setidaknya kontainer video yang dipakai: H.264, Ogg Vorbis, dan WebM. Beberapa organisasi komersial memilih untuk menggunakan H.264 karena katanya lebih efisien. Akan tetapi, paten H.264 dipegang oleh MPEG LA yang sewaktu-waktu akan meminta biaya lisensi untuk pengguna format ini.

Walah, kalau sudah harus membayar untuk memakainya itu, sih, bukan standar terbuka namanya. Sang pemegang lisensi dapat sewaktu-waktu mengubah spesifikasi. Apalagi kalau yang pegang lembaga komersial. Pasti dia ingin membuat diferensiasi dengan saingannya sehingga menciptakan format-format tak terdokumentasi seperti OOXML. Pasal-pasal karet dalam spesifikasi dapat diinterpretasikan berbeda oleh banyak pihak.

Untungnya Opera memiliki komitmen untuk setia kepada standarisasi web. Itu juga, sih, yang membuat dia tidak begitu kompatibel dengan banyak situs. Dia banyak di-bully oleh situs lain. Tapi, saya salut dengan komitmen Opera. Ia hanya mendukung WebM.

Berhubung yang punya WebM adalah Google. Mereka juga sudah berjanji untuk membebaskan format tersebut untuk menjadi format terbuka yang bebas lisensi. Maka penggunaan WebM di YouTube didukung penuh oleh Google.

Berhubung Youtube sudah bisa menggunakan HTML5 penuh, saya dengan ini mematikan Flash dari sistem saya. Ajaib, sekarang sistem saya pun tahan bekerja terus menerus. Iklan-iklan dari situs berita pun berkurang.

Jan Peter: Memindahkan WordPress Menjadi InnoDB

Untuk situs blog dengan pengguna belasan ribu aktif, penggunaan mesin basis data MyISAM sudah tidak memadai lagi untuk MHS Blog. Setiap pengguna minimal menggunakan lima tabel. Satu tabel ada tiga berkas. Nah, kalikan semua itu dan kita mendapati jumlah yang fantastis dalam sebuah direktori.

Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan menggunakan ReiserFS. Sistemberkas ini mampu menampung banyak berkas kecil dalam sebuah direktori. Tetapi, tetap saja terjadi penurunan performa basisdata. Ketika saya ‘ls’ di direktori tersebut, cukup lama untuk bisa sampai bawah. Padahal, jumlah data tak sampai 3 GB.

Hmm… saya sempat berpikir, seandainya MyISAM punya fasilitas pencacahan, mungkin ia bisa menaruh berkas-berkas tersebut ke sub-sub direktori. Atau, seperti basisdata Oracle yang bisa mempartisi basisdata dalam banyak partisi.

Akhirnya, saya punya solusi satu, memindahkan seluruh tabel ke dalam format InnoDB. Menurut sebuah tautan di Internet, cukup menggunakan perintah:

ALTER TABLE nama_tabel ENGINE = InnoDB;

Wow, mudah sekali. Saya tertarik untuk menjalankannya.

Buat Cadangan Basisdata

Blog MHS sudah ada semenjak 2006, berarti sudah banyak mahasiswa yang menggunakannya. Pengetahuan yang terkoleksi tidak boleh hilang begitu saja. Basisdata perlu disalin. Ada dua cara, mematikan MySQL atau mengunci basisdata.

Saya memilih cara yang kedua, tetapi tampaknya efeknya sama saja. Entahlah…. Yuk, lanjut.

Pertama-tama, masuk ke dalam basisdata yang bersangkutan, saya harus menggunakan “-A” untuk mematikan fasilitas autocomplete agar bisa masuk ke mysql:

$ sudo mysql --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf -A basisdata_ku

Lalu, kunci basisdata:

mysql> FLUSH TABLES WITH READ LOCK

Saatnya menyelamatkan tabel-tabel sebelum dirubah. Tabel-tabel MyISAM dalam sebuah basisdata biasanya disimpan dalam sebuah direktori. Saatnya mengompres satu direktori tersebut:

mysql> SYSTEM tar cfvj /tmp/basisdata_ku.tar.bz2 /var/lib/mysql/basisdata_ku/

Setelah selesai, segera buka kembali kuncinya:

mysql> UNLOCK TABLES;

Ubah Menjadi InnoDB

Ada ratusan ribu tabel dan saya punya kehidupan. Untuk itu, saya menggunakan cara yang disarankan oleh Stackoverflow:

mysql> select concat('alter table ',table_name, ' engine = innodb;')
 -> from information_schema.tables
 -> where table_schema in ('basisdata_ku');

Tidak sampai semenit semua terubah. Nah, tinggal satu langkah lagi.

mysql> quit; -- JANGAN LUPA KELUAR!

Ubah Secara Baku Menggunakan InnoDB

Mulai MySQL 5.5, basisdata baru secara baku menggunakan InnoDB. Pantas saja walau tabel lama sudah InnoDB, tetapi untuk tabel baru bakal MyISAM. Menurut sebuah entri blog, WordPress tidak memilih mesin yang digunakan. Jadi, sepertinya hanya perlu mengganti konfigurasi MySQL.Tambahkan entri di ‘/etc/mysql/my.cnf ‘ sebuah nilai di bawah “[mysqld]” sebagai berikut:

[mysqld]
default-storage-engine = innodb

Letaknya tidak harus tepat sehabis “[mysqld]“. Yang penting di bawah entri tersebut. Lalu, jalanulangkan MySQL:

/etc/init.d/mysql restart

Selesai.

Rencana Masa Depan

Ada beberapa rencana:

Pindah dari InnoDB ke XTraDB untuk performa yang lebih baik. (Percona)
Atau coba Drizzle?
Taklukkan dunia.

Saya menghindari entri politik. Tapi, saya merasa kecewa dengan adanya pejabat yang menyatakan ketidaksukaannya secara publik dengan langkah Walikota Surakarta, Joko Widodo. Walikota tersebut menyatakan penghargaannya kepada mobil Esemka dengan menjadikan mobil tersebut sebagai mobil dinas.

Kalau memang tidak ada yang baik hendak dibicarakan, hendaknya pejabat publik diam saja. Malah, seharusnya salut kepada Walikota Surakarta yang mengapresiasi karya anak bangsa dengan menggunakan produk itu sebagai karya spektakuler. Apalagi, ini karya yang memberdayakan anak SMK. Bisa membuka peluang kerja bagi orang-0rang yang mungkin tidak dapat melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi.

Janganlah menuduh sesama pejabat publik sebagai cari muka. Banyak, kok, yang tahu siapa Joko Widodo. Dia satu-satunya pemimpin daerah yang memindahkan pedagang kaki lima secara manusiawi dan bermartabat. Tidak seperti yang lain yang hanya bisa menggunakan Satpol PP dan alat berat. Bahkan, Beliau termasuk 10 Pemimpin Daerah yang berprestasi tahun 2008 versi Tempo.

Mungkin, mobil Esemka hanya merupakan produk inferior dibandingkan produk-produk mobil asing. Tetapi, Jepang berdiri kokoh sekarang bukan karena industrinya maju. Mereka pernah ada masa yang alat-alat elektroniknya inferior. Bahkan, sampai ada sentilan sebuah acara TV yang lama. Di acara tersebut sang pemain film membentak dan memukul-mukul TV Jepang supaya mau menyala bagus. Tetapi, mereka mau membeli dan mendukung industri dalam negeri. Produsen pun menjawab dengan menaikkan kualitas. Jadilah mereka salah satu produsen elektronik dunia.

Saya tidak tahu kualitas mobil Esemka dan saya mungkin belum tentu setuju dengan produksi mobil tersebut. Tetapi, apabila ada anak bangsa yang berprestasi bisa membuat mobil dan terutama lapangan pekerjaan, mengapa harus dijelek-jelekkan?

Saya belum tentu bisa beli, tetapi sebagai salah satu orang Indonesia saya bilang: Selamat kepada Kiat Motor yang membuat Esemka. Cahyo!

I am on a journey to my grave. Still, I'll keep this world painted when I'm still around. Washed by history, yet carved into the heart of some people. I wish a cherished live in that I could say: "I've enough."

Please help me, Jesus, for I have so many naught. This life that should be a dedication to You still be living in errors. Having a weak mind with once a broken soul. This once shattered heart healed because of You. Yet, I am still bound to this flesh.

Let me love, let me feel. Let me smile, let me go. Lord, I love You in this liberal mind. Help me so that I could understand the beauty of You. Not as a scholar nor as a subject, but as a beloved son that you've rescued from the mud.

My frail mind was tempted to be gone astray as others. Chasing bucks of money without ever have to use it. Swindled by capitalism and greed. Enticed by the widow, consumerism.

I know, Lord, statistically speaking these kind of temptations would end me up like others as losers trying to chase my missing years. Searching for something that was traded out of my soul.

Yet, the world is cave in around me. Strangle me with higher inflation. Strangle me with worries. Choke me with fallacies of what if scenarios.

Lord, I'm being tempted to have my own equation of Markov Chain. I am being tempted to make my own P. Help me to rely on your equation. For I know that even if I have IEEE friction, I'd still lose some accuracies.

Lord, I don't know what's wrong with the world. Why the price goes up? Why do we need cars? Why do we need gadgets? Why do we need those fancy pants?

actually i want to post this a month ago, but i always forgot to do so.

i have resolutions that i made at that time. in reality it's very hard to commit to them, especially when you are hanging out with your close friends. i always had an urgent needs to strap my uneducated mouth.

maybe everyone set the bar so high for what they want this year, but i just made one simple rule for myself. i only want to be a better person. for me, for families, for people i love, for everyone. to do so means less talking about people, less swearing, less negative thoughts. more praying, more saving, more smile. i don't need to be anyone but me, i just need to upgrade myself into a better version.

last year is the best year for me, financially :D alhamdulillah yah, no debt left, made a good property investment, and still have savings, yay! it's also the best year for me in terms of friendship. i made a couple of new besties, from work and from college too. i became less and less person i was a year before. i finally forgot how to fake a smile, and even though there's a thing or two that made me faking a smile for a week or so, in the end i learn to accept it the way it is :)

in terms of love, well, still a failure xD made some decisions that leads to disappointments. and for now, i'm taking a quite big risk about my future. still, i hope it will turn out good for everyone. this year is the very first time in my life i pray about someone during my praying. like what my girlfriends said to me, ask God then he shall answer your question. i did, and amazingly i also got the answer right away.

although it's not really that great, i'm lucky to pass this year with a proud smile knowing i already did my best. i'm not afraid to choose what i really want to do. and i'm lucky to have those who surrounded me with love and care even though sometimes i did things i'm not proud of.

overall, i survive this new year with a smile upon my face. well done, dear.. well done..

Work hard

I have never worked my ass off this way before. Ever since my users -accounting development unit- move upstairs to my place (they supposedly in 3rd fl, while IT in 4th) I can never go home early again. On the same time, my dad retired from UNICEF, so I have no one who pays taxi anymore. Usually my dad calls me to go home at 6 and I will be tempted to leave my task for 50k IDR (taxi rate all the way from Sudirman to Bintaro).

So now everyday I normally log my time-out on the fingerprint at 9 or 10 PM. In my user's term, tenggo = 5/6, pulcep = 7/8, normal = 9/10. I also have to attend office on saturday at least once in a month. This accounting development unit head is such a workaholic and he can make people around him work in his pace. However he's one of that few people who can make me feel very comfortable with. His subordinates usually refer him as my 'abang' because they say we often quarrel just like brot...

Ferry Haris: Mandiri dan Berani dalam Mencari Informasi Beasiswa

Rasanya beberapa tulisan saya di blog ini mengenai tips mencari beasiswa di Belanda masih relevan hingga kini. Terlihat masih maraknya kunjungan ke tulisan tersebut disertai dengan komentar yang ditinggalkan pembacanya, baik itu yang meminta dukungan doa dan semangat, maupun melontarkan pertanyaan lanjutan.

Hanya saja ada pola-pola pertanyaan yang semakin lama cukup mengusik hati kecil ini untuk menuliskannya secara terpisah. Garis besarnya adalah: Saya BUKAN pribadi ataupun perwakilan sebuah organisasi yang memberikan beasiswa untuk belajar di luar negeri!!!!

Sekali lagi saya hendak menekankan 2 hal penting terkait program beasiswa yang saya pernah alami sendiri, sebagai acuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan "Apa saja yang harus saya persiapkan untuk mendapatkan beasiswa?"

1. Bahasa Inggris
Di luar negara-negara yang mensyaratkan kemampuan bahasa lain, English adalah syarat mutlak yang harus dipenuhi para pemburu beasiswa studi di luar negeri. Untuk amannya kita ambil saja rata-rata minimum International IELTS sebesar 6.5.

2. Informasi Tersedia Berlimpah
Dengan kata lain: "Silakan, Anda mencari sendiri informasi beasiswa yang diminati secara pribadi!" Kenapa? Selain setiap program beasiswa terkadang memiliki persyaratan yang berbeda-beda, tidak ada yang bisa saya kategorikan sebagai "veteran" pencari beasiswa dimana dengan pasti dapat menyatakan atau memberikan contoh pamungkas model-model seperti apa yang dapat diterima. Jangan pernah takut untuk mencoba dan jangan pernah merasa kalah sebelum berperang. Coba dulu, dan coba terus!

Semoga ke depannya calon-calon mahasiswa Indonesia yang hendak meneruskan studinya ke luar negeri dapat menjadi manusia-manusia yang lebih mandiri dan berani untuk mencoba. Mohon maaf bila tulisan ini membuat Anda yang membacanya kecewa. Semata mata hanyalah mengutarakan kenyataan hidup dan kejujuran diri.

Siti Mawaddah: Perkembangan Sayyid 19 bulan 13 hari

Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim...

Fiuuhhh dah lama banget ya gak update cerita Sayyid.... padahal dulu niatnya tiap bulan diceritain perkembangan Sayyid ... tapi apa daya susah cari waktu enak...

Hmm mudah2an habis ngeblog ini, kegalau-an ku ttg bberapa hal akan berkurang... :D

Nah ini perkembangan Sayyid sampai 1 tahun ini..
Secara fisik,
Sayyid sudah meninggi, dengan perut yang tetep gendut :D
Berat sih belum beranjak dr 10kg ...

Yaaa pegimane anaknya aktif banget, kayaknya yang masuk sama dengan yang keluar deh hehe :D

Gigi sudah ada 16 lhoooooooo (8 atas, 8 bawah).... tinggal graham belakang ajah...
Kalo secara teori graham belakang bawah nanti akan muncul di usia 20 bulan,
sedangkan yang atas akan muncul di usia 24 bulan...

Perkembangan motorik

Hmm Alhamdulillah Sayyid dah bisa lari...
sudah sangat stabil jalannya, bahkan udah bisa menyeimbangkan sendiri badan saat mau jatuh...
Bisa dibilang sebenarnya sudah tidak ada yang perlu dikhawatirkan lagi kalo Sayyid lari...
udah bisa lari2 sambil muter...

There is a thread on IMDb indicating that this movie is deluding history. The thread starter was questioning "symbol of fascism" that changed into the "symbol of hope" for humankind. History tells that Yamato is a flagship of Japanese empire.

I am not that into Yamato. I am a Macross generation. So, I do think that I would say this from an outsider not a fan. Also, I am not trying to bash the person but just trying to analyze what's the meaning of Yamato.

A history lesson in my senior high hinted me of what kind of happens. Meiji Restoration was triggered by a humongous naval ship made of steel landed on Japan. The fleet led by Commodore Perry was causing chaos unto the heart of many Japanese people. It began the industrialization of Japan and her modern heart.

Still, the heart still beating fast for the people of Japan at that time. They decided to build a flagship that big enough to counter the Western. They want to be save from that black ship that shook the heart of many men and women.

That's why Yamato became the hope of many Japanese at that time. Their pride of a nation. Waking up from the ashamed state because of America forcing them to submit a trade treaty.

With that feeling of hope. They modernized that into the pride of humankind who was invaded by Gamilas.

Pagi ini cuaca cukup cerah sepanjang perjalanan. Busway yang lama ditunggu akhirnya datang juga dan membawa anak2 manusia menuju tempat kerjanya. Radio pagi ini memutarkan lagu Panah Asmara dari kk Afgan, sementara saya ikutan bersenandung karena lagu ini punya arti sepesial buat saya (haha!)

Lagi asyik masyuk mendengarkan lagu nostalgila itu, tiba2 partner perjalanan saya terkikik2 di samping. Usut punya usut ternyata lagu ini justru mengingatkan doi akan salah satu acara di trans tipi yang namanya The Hits. Bah, asem.. lagu nostalgila sayah ternyata diparodikan! Tak terima! *halah*

The big question of letting go bugged my mind around these last couple of months. Some things.. are they worth to keep, or should I let them go. Think I'm pretty good of letting things go, but when inputs and comments started to coming in, I'd have to reconsider my decision.. hence the state of dilemma I've been dwelling in.

Uhm, so.. not so much on progress.. but last week someone told me something, things that I would usually shrug off my shoulder, things like, "Well, you should try praying, perhaps miracle would happen.." Aww, very nice of you to say, and to think that we hardly know each other..

So yay.. big decision.. big decision.. to just f*ckin do it or to put it on hold. I'm big at making decision, which of course that's just one pretty fat lie.

To tell or not to tell, that's also one big decision to come up with. It's not that I won't tell, but more like when will be the right time to deliver the lovely message. Now or the upcoming month, now or not at all?

Ow man, can't I just go through with it without telling anybody? Lovely berondong, now I know how you feel, even though the scale of our decision is as wide as the Red Sea (which apparently not that wide if Moses could part it in two).

And yes, the state of my life is so-so to the low point. Extra point gathered when I see or do something interesting like seeing the musical or something. So yeah, not much interesting news on that part.

Ah, it's almost New Year so we better make some plans..

Visiting the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Have no idea why so many people are against this idea (or to present alternative one that doesn't appeal to me that much). Is it me or the crowd I'm hanging out with?
Watching Cirque du Soleil anywhere in this world. Shallow, isn't it? Hehe, I dunno why but I'm so damn thrilled every time I think of it. And guess what, Korea held on of its performances. One stone, two birds, anyone? click here for more info
Shrugged off any dull comments to any of my trip plan, things like, "Iya deh lo kan tajir..", "Susah deh yang gaya hidupnya beda..", "Gue sih ngga bakalan ikutan lifestyle lo.." (O_o) Which are weird comments, haven't they seen where I live? That 3x4 meter size of a dung hole?
Keeping on not planning the future to the smallest detail, cause it always prove that however you plan you life, things can go way further than your original one, since.. you know.. you're not God or something..
Being grateful on whatever things I'm receiving, simple things like thank yous, smiles and dinner invitations (hahaha! such a code..)
Staying true to myself. Okay, this one sounds bull, but I like it. So what if I like to change my wigs *lho* and if I like to paint my nails with black, drooling over cute ring (but unfortunately not my size) in shape of a blinky spider crawling upon your fingers, not caring whether I lose one or two of my clothes in the laundry, pile up my collection of (unwear) shoes.. that's me, so why bother?
Having my own furniture shop, just because I want it.
Being dorky girl is fun, so why the pretentious that I'm graceful and lady-like? I'm not, even my doctor think I'm still 17 and need parent's consent on doing things (O_o) So yes, just accept the fact that I tend to be childish and not growing up.. like ever.
Swearing as much as I like. Making dirty comments without care. And wearing my beanie everywhere even tho people will stare.

By the way, I love one of those tweets I read yesterday, something like..

Jan Peter: New Year Resolution Being Questioned

I have put a new year resolution candidate in my Facebook account. My resolution is to have better understanding about person that having unstable heart [is it the best translation of "menggalau"?]. This might be a joke to some of us, but this is actually important for me.

Many of my friends have this state of mind. Some of us might think, "ugh, isn't it obvious, they were weak!" But, I don't like that kind of argument. Judging people without seeing the cause of it is the reason of wars and perils.

Things aren't as is. There are some chain reactions towards that behavior. And failed to understand the root cause, we might end up making prejudice.

For a (self-proclaimed) scientist such as myself, jumping into conclusion is totally for idiots. So, I must take my part to understand what is wrong with them in order to understand them. I hope, even if we can't cure them, we have an antidote so that their negative-ruining-life emotion won't affect us.

But, really, the real reason is because we should care. The guilt would suffer you and you would thought, "gah! I should have been doing this...." A slap on the face came to me recently. One of my friend had really hard times and now the person is in RSCM having for medication. Hopefully, the person can gain his footing again.

Like many computer literate people, I have little ability of understanding people. But, what I think the media they listen and watch is something that made them vulnerable. You know, songs with cheating on each other, lies, and emo themes. They make many people weak and instead of accepting their lives, it suggested that they would not get into it.

You see, these songs might think that they trying to relate people with their thought. Yes, they either perfectly related or can be synced with one's life. But, they don't put any resolution with their songs. So, the song only making people related, but it just there to justify the hatred and the sadness without ever going further to take any action to walk through the pain.

While the music industry would not take responsibility and only take the money without moral conscience, I think we would see more people would fallen hard.

I used to suggest people to change their music preferences. Songs like a whisper into the subconscious. It is a double edge sword. It can also put you into uplifting life. It could dumb you down. But, I guess I'm not that good convincing. They don't really into my words, even if I said it was based on scientific articles like how Country music influence suicide.

But, even if there is a good writing about it. People won't buy it. I guess when you are in the field of feeling, scientific norms are being ignored. It becomes false.

I think I need to learn to have better suggestion. Because rational is an irrational thing to be suggested to people with "menggalau" mode. They won't check my suggestion that forgiving is the way to go to let go. People would not google it up at least. They won't even bother to ask where the article where I would gladly give if they have ever asked.

I wish I could understand being irrational. Is it like solving NP-Complete problem?

Jan Peter: Duty and Engagement

A new case arise on Indonesia today. It's about a girl who got kicked in her face by a security personal in an apartment. She was imitating Suster Ngesot, an Indonesian version of nurse ghost. The apartment management has released CCTV footage about what happened.

IMHO, the security is not wrong here. It's his job to secure people. From what I saw in CCTV, he backed the people on the elevator. He move forward as other people were shocked behind. He did his job to protect.

Now, is it hard to tell the security personal about doing a plan?

As far as my experience, every security personal, especially one in a large apartment would love to cooperate. They don't mind if we would like to do anything as far as it doesn't hurt. There might be a case of they would refuse, but that's rare especially when the reason was to have a surprise party.

Now, the poor security personal only did his job. But, the parent of that poor girl was furious and sued the poor guy. If my opinion matters, I say that he is innocent. What happened was an accident caused by an uncoordinated joke. So, lesson learned.

Let's move on.

i never like being tested, nor testing anyone. on my opinion, being a tester requires a cold steel heart that has the ability to fool anyone. i can't even do a decent poker face, much less pretending to be in a condition that i'm not.

it's not that i never lied. i know i will lie if i have to, as long as i didn't take advantages from someone that i care. but making up unimportant condition and pretending to be in the middle of something that i'm not feels so ridiculous and useless. what's the point? trying to prove or make a justification towards some foolish statements? argh. why would anyone want to fake something just to test a person that he/she likes?? whyyyy???

if i like someone, i will like him the way he is. i will adore his stupid joke and i will blindly forgive every single flaw that he had. i will ~~tell~~ show him exactly how i felt about him because that's who i am. i'm like an open book. my feelings are all written on my face.

you have to test someone that you like in order to see the compatibility between the two of you..

that's what my friend said. nonsense, i snapped back at him. why would you want to ruin something that is great for both of you. why don't you just wait and see for problem to came up instead of making that problem your own self? everything has their own time. if she's not the one for you, let time shows it. instead of testing her, why don't you just go with it, see if there's any problem coming and trying to solve it together?

i may be a failure in love, but i surely do have my own value about it.

but.......

stupid me. because of the conversation i had yesterday, i can't resist the temptation to do one stupid test this morning. and when he failed. my day feels like hell.

so? what's the advantages of testing someone? you'll feel sad if he fails. you'll feel stupid if he passes.
